So, this post is long overdue, and I feel that I must apologize to Greg and Kady for the lateness of it all. I’ve been slacking somethin’ silly on this blog (I’ll explain later), and it’s time I get back into it.
Thus, it has been nearly a month now that Nick and I, and Emily too, made the trek to Cumming/Suwanee, GA for the wedding of our friends, Greg and Kady, and even though it’s been a few weeks, the fun certainly hasn’t been forgotten. It was a gorgeous wedding with so many beautiful details, and just all around a great group of people.
It was a reunion of sorts, one with lots of old friends and new friends too, all of whom we were very glad to see. And on top of that, we were able to explore the outskirts of Atlanta a bit, which, despite being in the middle of fanatical SEC country, is quite beautiful. We ventured into Suwanee’s town center, where we had lunch a few times and Emily got to play in the fountains. We traveled to Kady’s lovely neighborhood and visited with her family and friends for a rehearsal dinner BBQ.
And then we got to enjoy great food, conversation, dancing, and all of the lovely romantic feelings that weddings stir up. The wedding was held at a renovated barn with a gorgeous fountain backdrop as Greg and Kady said “I do.” The delicious southern food was the perfect complement to all of the adorable shabby-chic decorations and personalized notes – there was even a welcome present as we arrived at the hotel that contained some Atlanta favorites: Coca-cola, peanuts, toffee, and peach-flavored yummies. But, like I find most important at nearly every wedding that I attend, you could just sense all of the love that was there from family and friends. I met their families and neighbors and witnessed their generosity in making the event special for the bride and groom. I heard the speeches given by the bride’s forever-best friend and Greg’s older brother, and I saw the look in her dad’s eyes as he and Kady danced to “I Love Her First”. (Needless to say, tears.) The details and decor were absolutely stunning, but all l of those little things are what make a wedding beautiful. And for that, it was just a very special time. Nick and I couldn’t have been more honored to be a part of it all.
Here are some photos from the weekend:
Greg and Kady, overall, it was a stellar weekend, and we wish you both the absolute best in everything – your marriage, your Navy career, and all of your travels and adventures that lie ahead. We love you guys, and are blessed to have friends who mirror the ideal of the loving and supportive military family.
And finally, lots of love to the whole Brollagio crew. We love you guys! Can’t wait for the next reunion.
